Our Services

All types of precision-engineered keys — available in multiple materials and grades.

Key Materials We Work With

We manufacture keys from four primary material grades, each suited to different industrial environments and performance requirements.

SS 316

Stainless Steel 316

The premium grade choice — SS 316 keys offer superior corrosion resistance, especially in marine, chemical, and high-moisture environments. Ideal where hygiene and corrosion protection are critical.

  • Excellent chloride corrosion resistance
  • Suitable for marine & chemical applications
  • Food-grade / pharmaceutical environments
  • High strength and ductility
SS 304

Stainless Steel 304

The most widely used stainless steel grade — SS 304 keys offer excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for a broad range of industrial and general engineering applications.

  • Good general corrosion resistance
  • Wide industrial application range
  • Cost-effective stainless option
  • Easy to machine and form
EN8

EN8 Carbon Steel

EN8 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel offering high tensile strength. Keys made in EN8 are preferred for heavy-duty mechanical power transmission in gearboxes, drives, and shafts.

  • High tensile strength (>700 MPa)
  • Ideal for heavy-duty torque transmission
  • Can be heat-treated for added hardness
  • Widely used in automotive & machinery
MS

Mild Steel (MS)

Mild Steel keys are the most economical option for general-purpose power transmission. They are easy to machine, widely available, and suitable for low-stress, indoor applications.

  • Cost-effective for bulk requirements
  • Easy to fabricate and weld
  • Suitable for general machinery
  • Good machinability and weldability

Types of Keys Manufactured

We manufacture all standard and non-standard key types as per IS, DIN, and BS specifications — or custom as per client drawings.

01

Parallel Keys (Sunk Keys)

The most commonly used key type in mechanical engineering. Parallel keys have a uniform rectangular cross-section along their full length. They sit half in the shaft and half in the hub, transmitting torque while maintaining a tight fit.

02

Taper Keys & Gib-Head Keys

Taper keys have a 1:100 taper on the top surface, creating a wedge effect when driven in. Gib-head variants include a head for easier removal. These keys are self-locking and ideal for drives requiring easy assembly/disassembly.

03

Woodruff Keys

Semi-circular in shape, Woodruff keys seat deeply into the shaft keyway and are self-aligning. Commonly used in light-duty applications such as machine tool spindles, automotive camshafts, and tapered shafts.

Square Keys

Square keys have equal width and height, making them interchangeable for both shaft and hub keyways. Simpler to produce, they are used where keyway machining is symmetrical and standard torque loads apply.

05

Feather Keys (Sliding Keys)

Feather keys allow the hub to slide along the shaft axis while still transmitting torque. Fastened to either the shaft or hub, they're used in sliding gears, clutches, and variable-speed mechanisms.
